History

It is the network Po-Midi which placed the order of the machine. The crane was delivered in 1938.
Assigned to its beginnings in Juvisy, the crane had the following changes :
- Vaires in January 1958
- Workshops of Nevers-Machines in July 1965

Inactive from 1944 to 1947, because it was damaged by a bombardment.

Reformed at the end of the years 1960, it was directed in Maurienne and was resold to an
Italian company.

(cf. VOIES FERRES N°136)

Characteristics

The unit is made up :
- of the crane,
- of 2 bogies with 4 axles
- of a flat wagon for the transport of the hooks and wood pieces,
- of a flat wagon for the transport of the ballast

In transport mode, the crane is on the 2 bogies and between the 2 flat wagons. The speed limit of the convoy is 80 kmh

In autonomous mode, a mechanical connection ensures the transmission to the bogies. The crane can move, with its
boiler, at the speed of 1.2 kmh.

In heavy lifting mode, the bogies are retracted and evacuated out of the working area. However, one of them can be positioned under the crane.

Configuration of the crane in heavy lifting mode :
- unfolded chimney
- ballast in position
- drawn up jib
- directed projectors
- footbridges installed
- deployed jacks
- free turret
- bogies withdrawn

Ranges/Loads:
- 6.25 m => 130 t
- 10 m => 60 t

Weight:
- Crane 139 T
- Flat wagon hooks 38 T
- Flat wagon ballast 62 T

Manufacturer:
Cockerill (Belgium)

Installation

After having loaded the file "cockeril.zip" unzip it in a temporary diretory...
You have access to the file helpme html version...

The installation is done in 4 steps:

1 - Install BB66400 and BB66479 if you do not have them (see Some advice for the user )

2 - Run the Cockerill.exe file.... That installs the crane in the directory
Train Simulator/TRAINS/TRAINSET/SNCF_Cockerill_130T
and the file "Cockerill_130t.con Convoy" in directory CONSISTS..

3 - If you want to test the activities, you must now download the specified
materials and the route (see
Activities).

4 - Lastly, you can run the file "activitiesE.exe" (E for English language)
which is in the directory Train Simulator/TRAINS/TRAINSET/SNCF_Cockerill_130T/Extras...
That installs the files relating to the activities in the directory
Train Simulator/ROUTES/L 1/..., the 231k run off the line in the directory of the 231k8
and cup dates in the directories of the BB66400, BB66479 and Pack UIC ep IV.

Some advice for the user

The pack includes a consist made up of Cockerill, its flat wagons and BB66479.
If you do not have the BB66479, you will be able to download it with the following address:
http://perso.club-internet.fr/staned/fichiers/BB66479.exe
However, the BB66479 will function only if you installed as a preliminary the BB66400 :
http://perso.club-internet.fr/staned/fichiers/BB66400.ZIP

In order to avoid incoherent consist and embeddings of the jib in the close cars
(the jib not forming part of the virtual gauge of the crane)....
, I specialized the coupling of the crane, the bogies and the flat wagons.
It is not possible to have with the crane another material only the bogies and the flat wagons.
It is however possible to only have any material with chain coupling with the flat wagons.

To avoid being in front of the strange situation (crane alone in levitation without its bogies) them
bogies cannot be uncoupled to the crane.

To built a consist, it should be done in the following order :

LOCO + Cockerill_RR_Poids + CockbogAR + COCKERILL + CockbogAV + Cockerill_RR_Cales

LOCO = locomotive of your choice (coupling chain)
Cockerill_RR_Poids = Flat transport of the ballast
CockbogAR = bogie 1
COCKERILL = crane
CockbogAV = bogie 2
Cockerill_RR_Cales = flat transport of the wood pieces and the hooks

A defect of display, related to the adjustment length of the shape of the crane, is visible in
the editor of consist. (Without effect on operation)

For the creators of activities :
There is in the pack a deployed crane which it is possible to position like a static train
to simulate a lifting of another material (always with this problem of display).

I also modelled a 231k "of through" that one can position like a static train
in order to simulate its derailment

However to be able to see it, it is necessary to have downloaded the original version that you
can find with the following address:
http://perso.club-internet.fr/staned/fichiers/231k8.exe

With you to play now to create us many activities...

Activities

3 activities are available. These 3 activities are in fact 3 episodes :

Cockerill1 (episode 1)
The 231K ran off the line at the exit of Collonges, you must constitute your
convoy made up of the crane and go to the spot of the incident.

Cockerill2 (episode 2)
The 231K is on rails, some operations to couple it with its cars.

Cockerill3 (episode 3)
The 231K from goes away, you must reconstitute your convoy and turn over to Genssac

Before charging the activities, ensure to have the necessary one installed (material and line).
